The management and staff of Mr. John’s School of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Nails are recognized for playing a leading role in the cosmetology profession. We were the first to open a school of esthetics in the State of Illinois. We were among the first to incorporate cutting-edge computer-based technology (learning aids) into our program. We are the recipient of numerous national and local industry awards.
Mr. John’s believes attention to individual needs encourages the finest teaching environment. Our 50-year tradition and commitment is to offer students a welcoming atmosphere, a challenging curriculum, and the tools to build a successful career as a stylist, teacher, salon manager or owner.
The U.S. Department of Education approves students who qualify for grants and loans for attendance at Mr. John’s. We have many scholarships and financial aid programs available. We have counselors who will assist each student with developing an individualized program.  The school is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS).
Mr. John’s trace their history to the early 1930s. At that time, the Decatur School of Beauty Culture and the Champaign School of Beauty Culture were opened by early pioneers in the field of cosmetology education. In 1964, the Decatur school was purchased and renamed “Mr. John’s.”  In 1998, Mr. John’s expanded into West Central Illinois with the purchase of the Jacksonville site.
The management and staff of Mr. John’s receives ongoing training, have played leadership roles in the industry and offer the most up-to-date training to students.
